This trip costs £25.00 - once you register you will get an email within 24 hours telling you where and how to pay.The TripThe Isle of Arran is a must see spot in Scotland. No trip to the country would be complete without a visit there. Many people say it is like Scotland in miniature and I would have to agree. This trip is unique (like the Edinburgh one). We do not take the coach onto the island so you are welcome to tour the island as you please. After the ferry journey we can split into five teams and explore the island.Ferry from the MainlandEveryone will love the ferry journey. It takes nearly an hour and is included in your price. The views over the Forth of Clyde as we travel are breathtaking. It's perhaps the highlight of the whole trip and well worth enjoying every minute.Team A: Hiking up the GoatfellThe first team will be the most daring of all the teams. We'll walk through the stunning town of Brodick, across the golf course, along the beach, into the forest and up the mountain. It will take us the full day and we will be more than tired afterwards but the views are worth the effort. Not for the fainthearted.Team B: Castle and Country ParkTeam B can join Team A on the first part of the hike and then leave into Brodick Country park. There are some amazing walks to be done here and this team will get to explore the town in much more detail than the rest of us.Team C: Cycle to the NorthThis team will be hard core. They will hire bikes and head to the north of the island (remember bike hire will incur a charge). At the north is the town of Lochranza. If you aren't fast then you will only get to stay for a few minutes as it is a long cycle but along the way you will see many cool sights and you can pull the bike in whereever you choose. Just remember to stay safe on the roads.Team D: Car HireSome students like to hire a car and venture around the island themselves. Please remember you need to check in advance if you can hire a car and also make sure you have the documents to do so. If all the cars are taken you can always cycle with Team C.Team E: Tour Island on BusesIf you plan ahead you can meet the local buses when they meet the ferry. This team must be fast as the buses won't be back until the next ferry comes around. They will however get to see the most of the island.EssentialsThe golden rule with every Student Tours Scotland trip is to have fun. No exceptions. To do this you will need to take some information into account. Remember that Scotland has 'interesting' weather. It can be beautifully sunny one minute and then raining the next. It can be cold in the morning but warm in the afternoon. Every day is different. You need to be prepared. Always dress for the rain and the cold. Wear good shoes or at least a pair you are comfortable in. You can always leave things on the coach if the weather allows.Remember your camera. The scenery in Scotland is among the most beautiful in the world. You won't want to miss out on those precious memories. If you have a smartphone or device with internet access remember to bring it with you. There will be social media competitions along the way. Most importantly stay safe. Listen to your guide. You are responsible for keeping yourself safe when out and about. If you follow the advice and signs then you will be sure to have fun. This trip costs £25 - once you register you will get an email within 24 hours telling you where and how to pay.
